Peter Weinstein
Chief Executive Officer Circurna
Peter Weinstein is Chief Executive Officer of Circurna and Acting Chief Executive Officer of Vaxxirna, where he leads the development and commercialisation of emerging RNA-based therapeutic technologies. Alongside his biotechnology leadership roles, Peter is Managing Partner at Entralta, advising life science companies on intellectual property strategy, technology licensing, corporate growth and fundraising.
He brings extensive experience spanning company building, strategic partnerships, intellectual property and biotechnology commercialisation, having previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Medalynx and as Chief Legal and IP Counsel at Quivive BioPharma. Through his work with Circurna, Peter is focused on advancing circular RNA technologies and translating differentiated RNA platforms towards therapeutic applications.
Seminars
- Replacing reliance on RNase R, where GMP-scale supply can present cost and scalability constraints, with proprietary column chromatography to simplify circRNA processing and reduce product loss
- Increasing recovery to approximately 85% and achieving around 95% purity while scaling manufacturing towards clinical production volumes
- Scaling an enzyme-free purification process from GMP toxicology material towards 30-50 g production while maintaining yield, purity and process simplicity
- Connecting higher yield, simpler purification and lower cost of goods with more affordable RNA therapeutics and broader patient access
- Demonstrating sustained circRNA-driven protein and peptide expression in fibrosis to explore where greater durability can reduce repeat administration and improve therapeutic effect
- Leveraging microneedle patch delivery into the dermis to generate strong immune responses at lower RNA doses while enabling simpler, potentially at-home administration
- Comparing circRNA with conventional linear mRNA across therapeutic and vaccine applications to understand how expression duration, dose and route of administration translate into reduced treatment burden
