Stephanie Annett

Senior Lecturer & Principal Investigator RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences

Dr Stephanie Annett is a Senior Lecturer and Principal Investigator in the School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences at RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences, Dublin, Ireland. A pharmacist and translational scientist, her research focuses on identifying and developing novel therapeutic targets for complex diseases, with a particular interest in emerging modalities, including RNA-based therapeutics and nucleic acid technologies. Her research explores the molecular mechanisms underpinning diseases spanning oncology, metabolic and inflammatory disorders, and neurodegeneration. She leads programmes investigating the therapeutic potential of FKBPL, a multifunctional protein with key roles in metabolism and inflammation, and is currently advancing mRNA-based therapeutic approaches for obesity and metabolic disease. Her work spans target validation, therapeutic development and commercialisation, with the goal of translating innovative discoveries into first-in-class RNA medicines.
